ABSTRACT: In order to create a more attractive environment for the development of overseas returnee talents, China government has formulatedamore active, efficient and open talent introduction policy.The adaptation of returnees is very important to play their full role in innovation.Guided by the theory of social capital, 23 young teachers who had returned to China for 2-10 years were selected to study their academic adaptation. It is found that there is structural dislocation in the distribution of relationship network among young returnee teachers. In order to overcome this problem, young returnee teachers adopt the strategies of letting nature take its course, expanding their interpersonal relationship and conversion their relationships. It is necessary for university to give the social support and the internationalization of academic management to help the returnee teachers academic adaptation.
