ABSTRACT: [Hmim][Tfa] was used as catalyst for the Biginelli reaction under microwave heating. Low catalyst loading, reduced reaction time and operational simplicity are the main highlights of this protocol. The proposed protocol was found active in the synthesis of 30 different biologically active compounds.
