ABSTRACT

Academic English writing is of great significance for students to improve their academic writing abilities. This study focuses on the lexical bundles produced in the academic English writing of 40 student writers in the British Academic Written English Corpus (BAWE). Additionally, 20 expert writers’ papers were employed as control corpora to compare with the students’ papers. Through the comparison of these two corpora, we aim to identify the usage characteristics of the two different groups to provide insights relevant to the teaching of academic article writing.
