ABSTRACT

With the increasingly extensive and in-depth cross-cultural communication, more and more domestic animation films have been released abroad. Excellent subtitle translation can help foreign audiences to understand China’s values, aesthetic orientation, national culture, etc. Researches on subtitle translation are of great significance. Based on the adaptation theory of Yev Vysolen, this paper analyzes and discusses the English translation strategies of Nezha, I am the Destiny, especially the words with cultural characteristics, and reveals how the adaptation theory is embodied in the English translation of subtitles. The author hopes to provide a reference for the subtitle translation of domestic animated films in the future, and help domestic animated films to spread.
