ABSTRACT: This action research project investigates the impact of a peer review editing intervention on the writing skills of eight grade students in a Jamaican high school. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study collected quantitative data via pre- and post-tests and qualitative data through questionnaires, observations, and journals. The findings reveal a contradiction: while qualitative data indicate students felt the intervention was beneficial and improved their confidence, the quantitative data showed a statistically significant decrease in writing scores after the intervention.
