ABSTRACT: The Boundou-Waadé deposit is part of the Sangarédi bauxitic plateaus (CBG concession), Boké Prefecture. In light of the different results obtained, it should be noted that there are two genetic types of bauxites on this plateau: in-situ or residual lateritic bauxites which are formed by alteration of the source rocks on site and sedimentary lateritic bauxites formed by alteration of sedimentary deposits accumulated in the Paleo-Cogon lake basin during the Middle Miocene of the Sangarédi series. The analysis of the major elements indicates that the more the content of SiO2 and Fe2O3 decreases, the more the content of Al2O3 increases. Knowledge in the rock domain involves the determination of a certain number of physico-mechanical characteristics. These can be determined on the one hand by laboratory tests on samples coming either from drilling or from blocks taken in-situ and on the other hand by tests carried out in-situ, either in trenches or wells. or galleries, or natural terrain. These wells served as means of controlling the various screw and core drilling works which sometimes present some disadvantages. The work carried out made it possible to specify the physico-mechanical characteristics of different litho-genetic types of bauxites and related rocks from the Boundou-Waadé deposit. To do this, we used approaches and a field campaign that provided us with extensive information on the geological features, followed by determination of the physico-mechanical properties of the bauxite facies encountered.
