  ABSTRACT: In the present paper, a connection between gravity, space and quantum mechanics is discussed. In particular, the problem of directly quantizing space is by-passed by the suggestion, starting from a formal analogy with electrodynamic, to quantize the space metric. In this way, a possible path for the quantization of gravitational waves is proposed.
