ABSTRACT: Antibiotic-Associated Hemorrhagic Colitis (AAHC) is a disease characterized by bloody diarrhea and abdominal pain that occurs after the use of antibiotics. Compared with other diseases that manifest as gastrointestinal bleeding, the prognosis of this disease is still good after discontinuation of antibiotics. In addition, there is insufficient understanding of this disease, so it has been prone to misdiagnosis or missed diagnosis in the past. This article aims to review the research progress on the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, and other aspects of AAHC, providing a reference for future clinical diagnosis and treatment decisions.
