ABSTRACT: The paper studies the inter-clan conflict in Herojaale, Mudug region, Puntland, Somalia, involving marginalized sub-clans. It examines the historical context, key incidents, and reconciliation efforts over the past three decades. It uses qualitative methods including interviews and document analysis. The paper highlights recent peace initiatives and challenges in achieving sustainable reconciliation. The findings of this study are derived from agreements signed conflicting parties, narrative reports of the reconciliation conferences and insights provided by a diverse group of key informants who played significant roles in the reconciliation process. Findings suggest that a combination of land management strengthening, structured mediation, economic revitalization, and inclusive reconciliation strategies is essential for breaking the cycle of violence and fostering peace.
