ABSTRACT: This study investigates the chemical and mineralogical composition of bauxite samples from five operating sites in Boffa, Guinea, aiming to assess their quality and suitability for alumina production using the Bayer process. The researchers employed X-ray fluorescence (XRF) to determine elemental composition after calcination and fusion with lithium borates. The results indicate that the Boffa bauxites are high in alumina (34.28% - 54.02% Al2O3) and low in silica (0.98% - 7.29% SiO2), suggesting high quality and economic viability.
