ABSTRACT: This work aims to study the dependence of the antibacterial activity on the crystal plane of Cu. The generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) on the thin film of Cu with grains oriented in the plane (100) was evaluated by chemiluminescence (CL). The authors proposed the generation mechanism of these three ROS on the outermost surface consisting of Cu2O thin film, CuO layer and bulk Cu.
