ABSTRACT: Tea, with its dual attributes of being both drinking and medicinal, has been favored by people since ancient times. This article aims to illustrate the transition of tea into a medicinal substance by delineating the historical progression of medicinal tea, differentiating it from alternative medicinal teas, analyzing prevalent forms of medicinal tea, and examining the research trend of globalizing tea-based medicine through bibliometric research methods. Furthermore, it explores several factors hindering the ongoing development of medicinal tea in China.
