ABSTRACT: With the development of technology and the deepening of globalization, cross-cultural communication has become an indispensable part of human social life. Based on Hofstede’s cultural dimension theory, this paper uses case analysis to study the application of this theory in Eastern and Western business communication. Through in-depth theory and case analysis, it is found that cultural dimension has an important impact on cross-cultural business communication. Understanding and applying the cultural dimension facilitates effective business interactions and is critical to international competitiveness and strong partnerships. This paper analyzes the causes of cross-cultural conflicts and communicative frictions between Eastern and Western cultures through cases, and puts forward countermeasures to improve cultural conflicts in business communication. Enterprises or individuals can better understand each other’s cultural background and behavior pattern by grasping the cultural dimension, so as to improve the efficiency and quality of communication and promote the harmonious development of business relations.
