ABSTRACT: Saudi
Arabia is a traditionally conservative kingdom that has seen rapid changes to
domestic and international foreign policy, liberalising their own society while
making efforts to tie the Saudi state to Western support. This paper discusses
the danger of accepting the Saudi state as a new liberal force and examines the
issues that have arisen in the previous year due to Saudi policy, and how these
policies may continue in the future.
