ABSTRACT: Tillage
practices have a significant effect on soil properties. Understanding the
specific effects due to geometric and speed parameters of the tillage implement
is the key to selecting a tillage practice that is best for a field. This is
the first step of many towards optimizing an efficient tillage implement given
initial field conditions and desired final conditions. Simple, small-scale
tests were performed on idealized implement geometries as a proof-of-concept
for future large-scale tests. The results of these tests are presented here and
in-depth analysis will be presented in future work.
