ABSTRACT: Organizational politics play a large role in how most
organizations function and develop. Human beings are political animals in nature
hence making difficult to prevent politics at the work place. Organizational politics
have so many influences on the affairs and behavior of employees in an organization
and is the pursuit of individual agendas and self-interest in an organization without
regard to their effect on the organizations efforts to achieve its goals. It is
an undisputable fact that over the years, organizations have battled with organizational
politics and are still putting in all possible efforts to mitigate this problem
so as not to affect the achievement of organizational goals and objectives. This desk reviewed paper examines the effect of organizational politics on
employees’ performance at the workplace in the context of pay, promotion, power and equity.
