ABSTRACT: This
study is presenting a Policy analysis of the related environmental challenges
associated with the development of socio-economic activities between China and
East African countries. The author thinks that Socio-economic issues and
economic development have a direct impact on the environment hence need to be studied for the purpose of policy formulation.
This study analysed the policies on environmental issues in China and its
five-year economic plan. Furthermore, this study examined what the Chinese
government has done about socio-economic activities and what lessons are
available for East African countries. Finally, this paper proposed possible
solutions for East African countries on environmental challenges associated
with the development of socio-economic activities with the potential for
combining economic and ecological interests in East Africa. This study can help
(potential) Government officers, policymakers, and regulators to assess
environmental risks with lessons from China.
