Abstract:

Destination image and choice are influenced by many factors. Destination crisis is one of them. This study explores the role of crisis in destination image and choices by using conflict event as a case study, six hypotheses were derived from literature and were tested in a survey. The study found that: Tourists’ attribution to the causes of crisis affects their destination choice; Risk takers are less aware of the negative image of a destination incurred by a crisis and are more willing to visit the destination after crisis than risk avoiders.
