Abstract: Applied cryptography, as a course, is highly practical. This paper explores a comprehensive“point-line-plane” teaching method of cryptography starting from the critical issues in class teaching and experimentalteaching. Specifically, the “point” or various cryptographical algorithms and protocols can form allkinds of applicable combination, i.e. the “line”, and they can be covered by elaborately designed network securityexperiments or the “plane”. Aimed to strengthen the understanding of cryptography knowledge andmeanwhile cultivate the ability of engineering application of cryptography for students, a close combinationof theory and practice is realized in the teaching of cryptography so that a feasible scheme is provided for cultivationof application-type cryptography talents.
