Abstract: Objective To explore the key meteorological factors which affect the incidence rate of gastric ulcer and establish the back propagation (BP) neural network prediction model of gastric ulcer incidence rate in plateau conditions. Methods The data on incidence rate of gastric ulcer and meteorological factors in plateau section (Haixizhou region, Qinghai Province) from 2003 to 2009 were collected and analyzed using Eviews3.1.The prediction model of BP artificial neural network was built by Matlab7.0. Results The incidence rate of gastric ulcer was positively correlated to the month mean temperature and relative humility, and was negatively correlated to the month mean pressure. The predictive precision of gastric ulcer incidence rate BP model was higher. Conclusion The incidence rate of gastric ulcer is correlated to the mean temperature, pressure and relative humidity. The BP neural network model fits very well in the study of gastric ulcer incidence rate.
