ABSTRACT

As an information product of the new era, the audience of movies is also expanding day by day. In addition to entertainment, movies have gradually been endowed with the mission of cultural exchange, and their level of dissemination also affects the degree of cultural output. The title of a movie is a highly refined representation of its content. Therefore, the translation of the title is crucial. According to the principle of translation Skopos theory, the translation of movie titles must be guided by the interests of the audience, fully considering cultural background differences and the commercial value of the film. This article will explore the methods of translating movie titles through four different approaches: literal translation, free translation, transliteration, and alternative translation, guided by the principle of translation Skopos theory.
