A Corpus-Based Study of the English Translation of Qian Ziwen ()
ABSTRACT
As one of the three major reading materials of Chinese traditional elementary education, the original text of Qian Ziwen is unique, with its language understandable, full of musical rhythm, and easy to read and memorize. This paper conducted a corpus-based study to make a comparative analysis of the English versions of Zhao Yanchun and Wang Baotong based on the self-built small corpus, and uses statistical tools such as Wordsmith 6.0, Complete Lexical Tutor and Readability Analyzer 1.0 to analyze the gains and losses of the two versions from three aspects: text form, recitation and language style.
