Special Issue on Hydraulic Engineering
Hydraulic Engineering is a core branch of
civil engineering concerned with the analysis, design, and management of
systems that convey, store, and control water and other fluids. It integrates
principles of fluid mechanics, hydrology, and environmental science to address
practical challenges such as flood mitigation, water supply, irrigation,
drainage, and coastal protection. The field encompasses the planning and
operation of hydraulic structures—including dams, canals, pipelines, and
spillways—as well as the modeling of complex flow behaviors in natural and
engineered systems. With growing pressures from climate change, urbanization,
and water scarcity, hydraulic engineering increasingly emphasizes sustainability,
resilience, and the use of advanced computational tools to optimize water
resource management and infrastructure performance.
In this
special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit
original research and review articles on exploring Hydraulic
Engineering. Potential topics include, but are not limited
to:
-
Open channel hydraulics
-
Pipe flow hydraulics
-
Computational hydraulics
-
River engineering
-

Authors
should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective
authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through
the journal’s Paper Submission System.
