Special Issue on Theory and Practice of Semigroups

Theory and Practice of Semigroups is a mathematical area focused on the study of semigroups, which are algebraic structures consisting of a set equipped with an associative binary operation. This field explores both abstract theoretical foundations—such as classifications, homomorphisms, and identities—as well as practical applications in areas like automata theory, formal languages, transformation theory, and functional analysis. The theory provides a framework for modeling and analyzing processes that involve composition, iteration, or sequential operations, making it valuable in computer science, logic, and engineering disciplines.
