Special Issue on Chitin and Chitosan
Chitin and its deacetylated derivative chitosan are natural polymers composed of randomly distributed β-(1-4)-linked D-glucosamine and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine. Chitin and chitosan are used in fields as different as food, biomedicine and agriculture, among others. The success of chitin and chitosan in each of these specific applications is directly related to deep research into their physicochemical properties.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring chitin and chitosan. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Interactions of chitin and chitosan
-
Physico-chemistry, enzymology, biotechnology research
-
Structural and functional analyses
-
Chitosan and their derivatives
-
New ways to biotechnologically produce, modify, and analyses
-
Food science and agricultural applications
-
Medical and biomedical applications
-
New and upcoming chitosan-based products and markets
Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.
Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue – Chitin and Chitosan” should be selected during your submission.
