ABSTRACT: Sustainability is a highly prioritized area of Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) education. There are plenty of courses and modules dedicated for this purpose, but the pedagogical approach towards achieving sustainability related learning outcomes is not effective enough to include the complete picture and diversity of constraints related to sustainability. Moreover, an important aspect of sustainability education is to change beliefs and mindsets, which is currently hardly being taken care of. This study attempts to fill this gap by exploring the understudied approach of storytelling for sustainability in AEC education. The framework for creating educational stories is developed matching the literature with AEC educational needs. A pilot story is also created as tested on undergraduate students to demonstrate the utility of framework. The study contributes to the body of knowledge by bringing storytelling as a pedagogical tool one step closer for AEC education.
