Special Issue on Earthquake Engineering
Earthquake engineering is a field of study
and practice that focuses on understanding the behavior of structures and
infrastructure during earthquakes, as well as developing strategies to design
and construct earthquake-resistant buildings and infrastructure. It aims to
minimize the damage and loss of life caused by seismic events. The goal of this
special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over
the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in
the area of Earthquake Engineering.
In this special issue, we intend to invite
front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review
articles on exploring Earthquake Engineering. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Seismic hazard assessment
-
Seismic design codes
-
Earthquake-resistant structures
-
Structural dynamics
-
Base isolation systems
-
Seismic analysis and modeling
-
Performance-based design
-
Shake table testing
-
Retrofitting of existing structures
-
Seismic behavior of materials
-
Soil-structure interaction
-
Seismic risk assessment
-
Seismic loss estimation
-
Seismic resilience and recovery
-
Seismic monitoring and early warning systems
-
Seismic response of lifelines (bridges, pipelines,
etc.)
-
Seismic hazard mitigation strategies
-
Post-earthquake investigation and lessons
learned
Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic
copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly specify the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Earthquake
Engineering” should be selected during your submission.
