ABSTRACT: This case study explored the Lebanese preservice and novice teachers’ perceptions of the effectiveness of the preservice training program they were enrolled in at a large university in Lebanon. Fourteen student-teachers and 13 novice teachers filled out an open-ended questionnaire. Six teachers from both groups were interviewed, and 3 novice teachers were observed three times. The data, which were analyzed thematically, showed that many participants viewed their training program positively. The data also revealed that the observed teachers applied some, but not all of what they claimed they learned.
