Special Issue on Design, Analysis and Implementation of Mobile Network
Systems: New Challenges and Technologies
Recent years have seen great prosperity in the research field of mobile
network systems, with the new advances on 5G networks, Internet of things, edge
computing, social networking, crowdsourcing and etc. With the prosperity, new
challenges are also faced with the ever-increasing volumes of mobile devices
and demands on the network efficiency, functionalities, security, and
management capabilities.
Facing those challenges, new tools and algorithms are needed for the
design, analysis, and implementation of mobile network systems. For example,
new techniques, from artificial intelligence and big data, offer a completely
new and challenging opportunity to the researchers and practitioners.
This special issue aims at bringing together researchers and
practitioners to continue proposing new visions, insights and solutions to the
design, analysis and implementation of mobile network systems. We welcome
recent advances in next generation communications and networking systems,
algorithms, theories, protocols, applications, experiments, and testbeds.
In this special issue, potential topics
include, but are not limited to:
-
Big data and machine learning for networks
-
Cross-layer optimization and control
-
Energy efficiency in networks
-
Edge and cloud computing
-
Fault tolerance, reliability and survivability
-
Information-centric networking
-
Internet of things
-
Mobile sensing and applications
-
Mobility management and models
-
Network measurement and analysis
-
Network security and privacy
-
Network virtualization
