Special Issue on Wetland Ecosystems and Sustainability
Wetlands are areas where water is the primary factor controlling the environment and the associated plant and animal life. Wetlands are an important source for both biodiversity and various products, including wildlife. Their great socio-economical value has been recognized relatively recently. Wetlands are also among the most degraded of all ecosystems, as they have been in intensive human use for a very long time. European wetlands have also lacked for centuries one of their essential modifier agent, the beaver. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of wetland ecosystems and sustainability.
In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore wetland ecosystems and sustainability. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Wetland productivity
-
Wetland values and functions
-
Fisheries and wildlife value
-
