Special Issue on Fatty Acids

 

In chemistry, particularly in biochemistry, a fatty acid is a carboxylic acid with a long aliphatic tail, which is either saturated or unsaturated. Although fatty acids play a role, whether protective or detrimental, in a wide array of diseases, their effects on risks of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome have received the most attention in clinical nutrition.

 

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring fatty acids. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Essential fatty acids
  • Unsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acids
  • Fatty acids in dietary fats
  • Cholesterol transport and breakdown
  • Dietary fat, fatty acids, and their relation to health
  • The role in diabetes, liver disease, etc.
  • Fatty acid consumption and energy homeostasis
  • Health implications in brain and nervous system
  • Hormone production
  • Regulation of blood pressure, immune and inflammatory responses

 

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.

 

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue – Fatty Acids” should be selected during your submission.
