Special Issue on Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer, which is the most common invasive cancer in
women, caused 458,503 deaths worldwide in 2008. It is a type of cancer
originating from breast tissue, most commonly from the inner lining of milk ducts
or the lobules. The primary risk factors for breast cancer are female sex,
older age and genetics. It is usually treated with surgery, which may be
followed by chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Women may reduce their risk of
breast cancer by maintaining a healthy weight, drinking less alcohol,
breastfeeding their children and so on. As the high mortality of Breast Cancer, close attention and
further research shows significant importance.
