Special Issue on Heart Failure
Heart failure is a medical condition characterized by the heart's inability
to pump enough blood to meet the body's demands. It occurs when the heart
muscles weaken or stiffen, leading to symptoms such as shortness of breath,
fatigue, swelling, and fluid retention. Heart failure can be caused by various
underlying conditions, such as coronary artery disease, hypertension, or valve
disorders. Management and treatment strategies for heart failure involve lifestyle
modifications, medications, and, in severe cases, surgical interventions like
heart transplantation or use of mechanical assist devices.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line
researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Heart Failure. Potential topics include, but are not limited
to:
-
Cardiac imaging and diagnostics
-
Cardiac electrophysiology and arrhythmias
-
Cardiac remodeling and ventricular function
-
Biomarkers and prognostic indicators
-
Cardiac devices and mechanical circulatory support
-
Cardiac rehabilitation
