ABSTRACT: This paper focuses on the innovative integration of local red cultural resources into college English teaching, taking Shaoxing as a case study. As an important base for revolutionary struggles, Shaoxing has accumulated a rich revolutionary history and culture. The research shows that incorporating this unique cultural heritage into the English curriculum not only enhances students’ language skills but also strengthens their sense of national pride and historical consciousness. Through field visits to some revolutionary landmarks in Shaoxing, this study has developed a moral education resource library tailored to English teaching needs and created related teaching content. Data analysis from surveys and interviews reveals that this teaching model has achieved positive results in improving students’ language application abilities, cultural awareness, and learning enthusiasm, with notable improvements in writing skills and cultural identity. However, the study also finds that some learners encounter difficulties in understanding more complex historical content. Therefore, it is recommended to enhance the dissemination of local historical knowledge, optimize the difficulty level of teaching materials, and further explore local red cultural elements. This research opens a new perspective for the in-depth integration of local cultural characteristics with language education and offers valuable insights for related studies.
