ABSTRACT: Teaching lower-grade primary school students English picture books reading is getting more and more public concern. Now problems in the practice include: lack of supporting resources for picture books; the disconnection between teaching and assessment; insufficient teaching method. Strategies to improve English picture book teaching can be: develop multimodal teaching materials according to the teaching objectives; rationally design teaching methods; pay attention to the diverse characteristics of students.
