ABSTRACT: It is our intent to demonstrate to what extent the Aristotelian and Pseudo-Aristotelian theoretical corpus on vision and color have, over the centuries and up to the present moment, contributed toward the production of works that have become foundational to study and research on the multidisciplinary domain of color, light, and sight. We will illustrate this intent by drawing on the oeuvres of Manuel de Góis, Simon Portius, and Goethe.
