Special Issue on Psychiatry and Mental Health
Psychiatry
and Mental Health is a multidisciplinary field dedicated to understanding,
diagnosing, treating, and preventing mental, emotional, and behavioral
disorders. It encompasses a wide range of conditions such as depression,
anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders.
Psychiatry, as a medical specialty, often involves pharmacological treatment,
while mental health services may also include psychotherapy, counseling, and
community-based support. This field integrates biological, psychological, and
social approaches to promote psychological well-being, reduce stigma, and
improve the quality of life for individuals across the lifespan. With growing
global awareness, psychiatry and mental health play an increasingly vital role
in public health and holistic healthcare.
