Special Issue on Transportation Engineering and Planning
Transportation
Engineering and Planning is a vital discipline within civil engineering focused
on the efficient, safe, and sustainable movement of people and goods. It
involves the design, operation, and management of transportation systems,
including roads, railways, airports, and public transit networks. This field
combines engineering principles with urban planning, environmental
considerations, and policy analysis to develop integrated solutions that
address traffic congestion, accessibility, infrastructure development, and
mobility needs. Transportation engineering and planning play a critical role in
shaping modern cities, improving quality of life, and supporting economic
growth through smarter, more resilient transport systems.
In this special issue, we intend to invite
front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review
articles on exploring Transportation Engineering and Planning. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Airport planning and design
-
Freight and logistics
-
Highway design
-
Intelligent transportation systems
-
Maritime and port transportation
-
Non-motorized transportation
-
