  ABSTRACT: Party building leading is an important mechanism of social governance in China, and community governance, as an important part of social governance, has problems such as the strong dependence of administrative power, weak sense of participation in the practice of governance, and it is difficult to meet the diverse needs of residents only by relying on unilateral power. This study with J community in Sichuan province as an example, using the method of field investigation, action research, introducing social work into the process of community governance, discusses how to play a professional role under the mechanism of the party leading, improve community governance ability, provide a new direction for community governance development, explore new path for professional research on social work.
