Special Issue on Geoscientific Instrumentation, Methods and Data Systems
Geoscientific Instrumentation, Methods and Data Systems are powerful tools to explore the subsoil for envi-ronmental investigations. The fields of application can be hydrological and hydrogeological characterization and monitoring, slope stability assessments, archaeological surveys, locating voids and karstic features, soil characte-rization, and so forth. Ground-penetrating radar (GPR), seismic, DC resistivity, electromagnetic induction, gravity, and magnetic methods are the most used, while the use of other technologies, such as telemetry, has grown over the past decades. The available techniques are characterised by different penetration and resolution capabilities, from few centimeters to kilometers. For this reason, there is a drive in the scientific community towards the integration of geophysical methods in order to detect and characterize the subsoil from the analysis of different physical properties.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Geoscientific Instrumentation, Methods and Data Systems.
Authors should read over the journal’s Author Guidelines carefully before submission, Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Paper Submission System.
