ABSTRACT: Building on the theoretical foundation of conservation of resources theory, we investigated the mediating role of the emotional exhaustion in the relationship between abusive supervision and work-family conflict. Using a sample of 339 employees from south of China, we examined the direct and indirect relationship between abusive supervision and work-family conflict. The result shows that abusive supervision influences work-family conflict and the relationship is partially mediated through emotional exhaustion. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
