Special Issue on Social Science and Health
Social
Science and Health is an interdisciplinary field that explores the societal,
cultural, and behavioral aspects of health and illness. It draws upon theories
and methods from various social science disciplines, such as sociology,
anthropology, psychology, and economics, to understand how social factors
influence health outcomes. This area of study examines issues like health
disparities, social support systems, health policies, and the role of social
institutions in promoting or hindering health. By understanding these social
determinants of health, Social Science and Health aims to improve individual
and population health outcomes.
