Special Issue on Drosophila

Drosophila is a genus of small flies, belonging to the family Drosophilidae, whose members are often called "fruit flies" or pomace flies, vinegar flies, or wine flies, a reference to the characteristic of many species to linger around overripe or rotting fruit. One species of Drosophila in particular, D. melanogaster, has been heavily used in research in genetics and is a common model organism in developmental biology.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring drosophila. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

Morphology

  • Lifecycle and reproduction
  • Roles in genetic analysis
  • Model organism in genetics
  • Laboratory-cultured animals
  • Genome
  • Sex determination
  • Behavioral genetics and neuroscience

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue – Drosophila” should be selected during your submission.
