Special Issue on Coronary Artery Disease
Coronary
artery disease (CAD) involves the reduction of blood flow to the heart muscle
due to build up of plaque in the arteries of the heart. It is the most common
of the cardiovascular diseases. Types include stable angina, unstable angina,
myocardial infarction, and sudden cardiac death. Risk factors for CAD include
high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, obesity, diabetes, and a family
history of coronary artery disease. Treatment for CAD may involve lifestyle
changes, medication, and medical procedures, such as angioplasty, stenting, or
bypass surgery, to restore blood flow to the heart. Research in this field aims
to improve the understanding, prevention, and treatment of CAD, as well as develop
new diagnostic tools and therapies.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line
researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Coronary Artery Disease. Potential topics include, but are not limited
to:
-
Diagnosis and treatment
-
Pathogenesis
-
Pathophysiology
-
Molecular mechanisms
-
Genetics and epigenetics of CAD
-
Epidemiological study
-
Coronary bypass surgery
-

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective
authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through
the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field
“Special Issue – Coronary Artery Disease” should be chosen during your submission.
