ABSTRACT: Ulcerative
colitis (UC) is a chronic relapsing inflammatory disease of the colorectal
region which may be complicated by extraintestinal manifestations, as cutaneous
involvement. Immune dysregulation resulting in a lymphocyte mediated
destructive process has been suggested as a possible pathogenetic link between
gut and skin-related manifestations. The authors describe an atypical
clinical aspect of lichen ruber planus in a patient affected by vitiligo,
alopecia areata and ulcerative colitis.
