ABSTRACT: The study examined and compared the effect of the
school physical environment on academic achievement of senior high school
students in Ghana. The study sought to investigate the contribution of a number
of school physical environment on the performance of students in schools.
Participant for the study was selected using the multi-stage sampling technique
using simple random sampling. A regression model was used to determine the
relationship between the dependent and independent variables. The findings of
the study confirmed that the students in senior high schools with a pleasant
physical environment perform better than those where the learning environment
is not conducive. The researchers, on the basis of the empirical evidence, established
that adequate school facilities provide a positive educational climate suitable
for student learning.
