In the 1870s, South Korea launched a massive rural reform called the “New Village Movement”, which dramatically changed the face of the countryside. Zhejiang Province, as one of the most prosperous economic provinces in China, has made remarkable achievements in promoting new-type urbanization in recent years. However, the problem of unbalanced urban and rural development is becoming more and more obvious. How to further improve the urbanization strategy and promote the integrated development of urban and rural areas has become a key issue to be solved urgently in Zhejiang Province. The purpose of this paper is to provide reference for Zhejiang Province in promoting the construction of “new urbanization” and realizing the goal of “common prosperity” by studying the successful cases of “New village Movement” in South Korea.
