ABSTRACT

Since the founding of People’s Republic of China 70 years ago, China has made remarkable achievements in education. From eradicating illiteracy to building an educational power, the Party and the government have adhered to the concept of serving people and always took the promotion of educational equity as governing philosophy and action target, guaranteeing everyone’s right to being educated, and striving for greater happiness for the people. Under the guidance of the CPC’s concept of educational equity, the level of educational equity in China has been continuously improved and raised, the nine-year free compulsory education has been fully realized. In the meantime, the overall national quality has been improved, and the intergenerational transmission of social disparities has been effectively curbed.
