Special Issue on
Seismo Electromagnetics and Earthquake Prediction
Earthquake (EQ) prediction is still very essential
for the mitigation of the loss of human lives and economical losses. The
research during the last few decades yielded that non-seismological phenomena,
mainly electromagnetic (+geochemical) effects do take place prior to an EQ, and
those seismo-electromagnetic phenomena are considered to be very promising for
short-term EQ prediction. An enormous progress is going on in this field of
seismo-electromagnetics, and especially the mechanism of
lithosphere-atmosphere- ionosphere coupling is a challenging topic. Further
studies will be highly required to discuss the applicability of pre-EQ signals
toward EQ prediction. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform
for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and
discuss various new issues and developments in this area of seismo electromagnetics and earthquake prediction.
In this special issue, we invite
front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review
articles that explore seismo electromagnetics and
earthquake prediction. In this special issue, potential
topics include, but are not limited to:
-
General
discussion on EQ preparation process and the physics of pre-EQ signals
-
Statistical
analyses of EQ precursors
-
Theory,
modeling, laboratory experiments, computational simulation for generation and
propagation of pre-EQ signals and their connection with seismic cycle
-
Multi-parameter
observations, detection, and validation of pre-EQ signals
-
The
latest developments in EQ predictability and prospective testing associated
with major EQs
-
Other
related topics on EQ preparation processes and EQ prediction
Authors should read
over the journal’s For Authors carefully before
submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their
complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly specify the “Special
Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue –Seismo Electromagnetics and Earthquake
Prediction” should be selected during your submission.
