Special Issue on Maintenance in Engineering Systems

Maintenance in Engineering Systems addresses advanced theories, methodologies, and technologies that ensure the reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance of complex engineering assets and infrastructure. The topic encompasses predictive and condition-based strategies, reliability-centered approaches, fault diagnosis and prognostics, structural health monitoring, digital twin systems, and data-driven asset management. Emphasis is placed on integrating sensor networks, industrial internet of things platforms, artificial intelligence, and optimization models to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime and lifecycle costs. Contributions exploring risk assessment, lifecycle engineering, human factors, sustainability considerations, and sector-specific applications across energy, transportation, manufacturing, and infrastructure systems are particularly encouraged.
